Patricia Jo Dolanski, President
Patricia is the founder of the Grand Traverse Dyslexia Association and has served as President of the Board of Directors and Director of Tutor Services since 1985. Patricia is an educator, public speaker, tutor, tutor trainer, and student intake screener. She is a parent of a child with learning disabilities, and Pat herself is dyslexic. In 1998 Patricia was the recipient of the Grand Traverse Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Educator Award. Patricia has also served on the board of the Michigan Dyslexia Association. Patricia has been preparing Vicki Norris to take over the directorship of GTDA. Patricia will then be continuing with GTDA on the board, as a tutor, and as a consultant in all things GTDA.
Victoria Norris, Director
In August 2013 Victoria Norris became Director of GTDA. She is the mother of a former GTDA student and has been one of our tutors. Vicki has a Master of Arts degree in Reading and has taken post-MA classes in leadership and educational supervision.
Suzanne Weiss, Secretary
Suzanne is the secretary for the Board of Directors. She has also served as a volunteer bookkeeper for the organization.
Gerald Heck, CPA
Gerald volunteered his accounting services to the Grand Traverse Dyslexia Association from 1987-1991 and has been volunteering as a financial consultant since 2000. He is the past President of the Flint Rotary Club and past Treasurer of the Boy Scout Council of Flint.
John is himself a dyslexic and has a son in the program. He is currently a commercial lender at Traverse City State Bank.
Peter is owner of the Norris Woodcraft, Inc., a custom cabinet and furniture business, in Traverse City. Peter has strong ties to GTDA. His daughter was a student in the program, and his wife is the Vicki Norris introduced above.
